Peoria Artisan Brewery and Mezcal Carreno are excited to present to you a Three Course Tasting Dinner featuring the cuisine of Chef Michael Mahalick and the hand-crafted libations of Mezcal Carreno.
For more than 100 years, the Carreño family has been producing artisanal mezcal in Oaxaca Mexico. Ivan Carreño with his close friend Abel Arriaga have recently brought the Carreño family tradition to the Valley of the Sun. Learn the history behind the mezcal and taste the terroir while you enjoy the accompanying cuisine of Chef Michael Mahalick. Upon your arrival, enjoy a mezcal welcome cocktail and an amuse bouche Mini Ceviche Taco of White Fish, Hibiscus, Pomegranate with Juice from Arizona Lemons before the dinner begins. Chef Michael and Ivan Carreno will walk you through each course and pairing as follows:
Course 1: Chorizo and Black Bean Tlayuda: White Corn Masa topped with a Black Bean Puree, Chorizo and Oaxacan Cheese
Course 2: Negro Mole Braised Chicken: Confit Chicken with Mexican Rice, Sesame Seeds and House Handmade Tortilla
Course 3: Chocolate Sphere Churro: Oaxacan Chocolate, Hibiscus, Pasilla Chile and Ginger
